This is the Spanish language program from the 1982 Super 8 Film Festival in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Puerto Ricans who did not have adequate access to the resources and tools used in the U.S. used Super 8 to participate in world cinema. A group of Puerto Rican filmmakers who called themselves “Taller de Cine La Red” arranged an encuentro (a meeting) to showcase their films. They also included some films from abroad, and the San Juan Super 8 festival was born. The program introduces the objectives of the International Federation of Super 8 Cinema (the Federation), some opinion columns on the state of Super 8 in Puerto Rico, and updates on films and filmmakers.
