The history of music concerts at SUNY Plattsburgh is full of big names, hard-working students, major Student Association finances, remarkably good fortune and timing, and countless personal anecdotes. Though you may search Google all day and night, you will not find this history on the Web. Rather the story lies buried within the rich College archival resources of Feinberg Library's Special Collections such as our student newspaper Cardinal Points and its predecessor The Northern Light, our yearbooks, and the Student Association archives.
There is much research still to be done before this history can be fully told, so for now this exhibit aims to highlight some of the more significant and interesting chapters. In future months we will build a Digital Commons collection to chronicle not only the documentary history but also the oral history that lives in the hearts and minds of the tens of thousands of people who experienced these memorable events over the years.
Rock on, Plattsburgh!
